01 Jul COVER REVEAL! PLANTING FRIENDSHIP: PEACE, SALAAM, SHALOM
I’ve been waiting to see the cover of this beautiful new book, and now, we all get to see it! I am thrilled to host the cover reveal of PLANTING FRIENDSHIP: PEACE, SALAAM, SHALOM. It is co-written by Callie Metler, Shirin Rahman, and Melissa Stoller and illustrated by Kate Talbot. It releases on October 19, 2021, from Clear Fork Publishing. Mark your calendars!
This book is so timely and important, and the cover says it all. With all the turmoil in the world, the sight of ….well, you’ll have to wait to see it…makes me smile. I know you want to scroll down to see the beautiful cover (I don’t blame you), but first…let’s find out a little about the book. Melissa Stoller shared some thoughts.
Thank you, Ellen, for hosting our cover reveal. We are so excited about PLANTING FRIENDSHIP: PEACE, SALAAM, SHALOM Kate’s incredible artwork truly elevated this project, and we know readers will enjoy searching for all the stunning details Kate included throughout the story.
About the book:
When they meet on the first day of school, three girls realize they are different from each other – Molly is Christian, Savera is Muslim, and Hannah is Jewish. But soon the girls cultivate friendship through a planting project in Peace Park. Written by three women authors from the same faith traditions as the girls in the story, this book will hopefully bring a bit more PEACE, SALAAM, SHALOM into the world. Illustrator Kate Talbot brought her beautiful vision to the project, as evidenced by this brilliant cover. This is truly a #DreamTeam.
Background:
We wrote this story as three women of the same faith traditions as Molly, Savera, and Hannah, to help bring peace, kindness, and friendship to the world. Hopefully, this picture book will open a dialogue about finding similarities and honoring differences leading to continued understanding and cooperation.
This is lovely! And now….
DRUMROLL….
HERE IT IS! I dare you not to smile.
